In my life, the sixties revolution stretched from the assassination of JFK to the fall of Saigon. It altered our politics, how we dress, eat, take drugs; form intimate relationships; what we watch and listen to; and how we think about God and the cosmos. None of that was quite clear at the time though, and these photographs—taken in the San Francisco Bay Area and Massachusetts between 1967 and 1972—reflect only what I saw and experienced. They include portraits, mostly of people I knew, and street scenes in Northern California and Cambridge. But this collection isn’t just about the photos I took then. It’s only possible because of Photoshop and that I was able to restore, clean up and re-colorize faded and long-neglected negative and slides.
