Commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment by experiencing a Tudor Place Tea & Tour with a female focus. Martha Washington’s devoted granddaughter. The enslaved woman who lived in her own home. The widowed single mother who ran the estate in wartime. The world traveler who served victims of World War I. For two centuries, the women of Tudor Place have been fierce, independent, and ahead of their time.

Tickets for Tudor Place events are non-transferable. If you need a refund or can no longer use your tickets, please contact us at education@tudorplace.org. Refunds will not be available after Friday, May 31.

Jazz in the ‘Hoods at Tudor Place: Nichole Saphos Trio @ Tudor Place Historic House & Garden

Relax on the beautiful Tudor Place grounds with the music of a jazz trio featuring bassist Nicole Saphos. Saphos has performed at The Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, Strathmore Mansion, and The Kimmel Center, and has played with Terell Stafford, Joanna Pascale, The Cab Calloway Orchestra, Sharon Clark, Chuck Redd, and Paul Carr. She has been featured in the Washington City Paper, and earned the Exceptional Bass Soloist Award from the Essentially Ellington Competition in 2008.

Since 2005, the DC Jazz Festival (DCJF) organization has provided enriching and entertaining jazz performances and programs that introduce students and adults from all walks of life to jazz, our nation’s singular original art form. Tudor Place is pleased to welcome jazz fans to our historic grounds as a host of the 2019 Jazz Festival’s Jazz in the ‘Hoods program. We will be vending light snacks and non-alcoholic drinks during this outdoor event.
